background
Especially as weekend vacationers, primarily South African guests come to the seaside resort.
getting there
By plane
The nearest international airport is in Maputo (MPM). The is also suitable for a cheaper journey from Europe Johannesburg Airport O.R. Tambo.
By bus
Minibuses from Maputo-Catembe (the bridge opened in November 2018 should lead to changes here).
In the street
From Maputo via Av. Organização da Unidade Africana (toll road) is 167 km. Over the new bridge through Maputo-Catembe only 115 km. In connection with this, the trunk road was also expanded, so that the sand track towards the border is a thing of the past.

On foot. All side streets are unpaved sand.

Kilometers of well-kept beach, nothing else.

“Swim, snorkel and relax.” In the area in front of Ponta do Ouro, humpback dolphins, Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins, spinner dolphins, as well as migrating humpback whales, sea turtles and whale sharks can be found regularly. Corresponding diving tours are arranged on site.
Those who prefer to make noise can also jet skis by the hour or Quads rent by the day.

Many accommodations / apartments are equipped with kitchens. There is a bakery and a butcher in town for supplies.
