History

In 1815 there was a change of borders and the poviat took over areas farther north, in favor of the loss of eastern areas. In 1918, as a result of the separation of Poland, the district was incorporated into of the Silesian Voivodeshipand then in 1950 it was incorporated into the Opolskie Voivodeship. In 1975, changes were made to the territorial appearance of the poviat, which was the last administrative adjustment in the history of the Głubczyce poviat.
Economy
Despite having many valuable raw materials, the poviat has a typically agricultural character. There are two large farms up to 10 thousand. ha and a dozen or so farms exceeding the size, and the average size of an agricultural holding is approx. 20 ha. On agricultural land, with a predominance of 2nd and 3rd class, mainly wheat, beetroot, rape and maize are grown, and dairy cows and pigs are farmed.
The industry is largely associated with agri-food processing (dairies, oil mills, meat processing, bakeries, beverages factories, breweries) and, to a lesser extent, with electromechanics, ceramics, construction and wood processing. Taking into account the typically agricultural character of the poviat, it prospers very well.
