And 4 rural communes: Cielądz, Rawa Mazowiecka (the largest - 8,668 inhabitants .), Regnów and Sadkowice.

It is situated in Wysoczyzna Rawska, whose varied landscape is the result of the activity of the Central Polish ice sheet in the Pleistocene.
A trace of the glaciation is an erratic boulder in Zawadach, the second largest eratyk in Poland. The gentle moraine hills reach altitudes from 150 to 190 m above sea level.
The Rawka, Białka and Rylka river valleys can also be seen in the relief. The Rawka valley, which meandered and formed numerous oxbow lakes, is extremely picturesque. The landscape is diversified by pond complexes with a total area of approx. 290 ha and retention reservoirs.
Forests cover only 12.4% of the county's area, the rest is arable land. The poviat is famous for its fruit farming, and the percentage of orchards (24% of agricultural land) places the poviat in the forefront of the country.
There are three forest nature reserves in the district - "Babsk" (mainly to protect small-leaved linden), "Trębaczew" (pine and oak forest) and the "Rawka" water and landscape reserve, and in Wolcza (Rawa Mazowiecka commune) a gravel pit in the sediments of the Central Polish Glaciation.

Folk costumes can be found in the southern part of the Rawa region. The striped uniforms are dominant here, in the form of aprons and shoulder straps. The variety of the outfit is significant, both in terms of colors and the arrangement of stripes. In fact, in every village there was a different color scheme on the aprons.

Traditional forms of folk handicraft include pottery workshops making jugs, bowls, and flower pots in characteristic shades of brown with floral ornaments. Works of the region's folk art are collected and exhibited by the Regional Museum in Rawa Mazowiecka.
Apart from Rawa Mazowiecka and Biała Rawska, the village is also known Boguszyce with a wooden gothic church with polychrome inside.
And in the cemetery in Babsko there is a historic tomb of Konstancja Gładkowska, muse and youthful love Frederic Chopin.

There are tracks in the poviat and trains of the historic Rogowska Narrow-Gauge Railway run in the tourist season.
