Babsk nature reserve - forest nature reserve located in Poland, in voivodeship of Lodz, in Rawa County, on the premises the commune of Biała Rawska. Located on Lowicko-Błońska plain, in the north-eastern part of the Łódź Voivodeship, close to the border with Masovian Voivodeship, approx. 65 km south-west of the capital, by the international expressway E67 WarsawKatowice (the so-called "Gierkówce"), less than 1 km from the village Babskfrom which it takes its name.

In the forest complex in which the reserve is located, the Białka River (a tributary of the Rawka) flows beyond its borders. The area of ​​the reserve is flat, although sloping as it approaches the stream and lies at an altitude of approx. 140 - 150 m above sea level.

The area of ​​the reserve is 11.21 ha, it was established in 1958 The object of protection is a fragment of a deciduous forest with an admixture of linden trees passing in the northern part (near the stream) into a hornbeam and lime forest with clumps of alders. It is one of the few stands of this type in central Poland.

The creation of the nature reserve was to ensure the protection of the old deciduous stand with participation linden treesThey mainly grow in the reserve pedunculate oaks at the age of 100-160 years, which are 2 m in circumference (they constitute approx. 50% of the stand).

Also lime trees of similar age (with trunk circumference 100 - 140 cm) and also hornbeams, pine trees and birch treesIn the vicinity of the brook flowing through the reserve, the vegetation looks a bit different - the shores are covered with mainly hornbeam and linden forest, and in places there are clumps of alders. Various species of grass grow by the stream itself - reeds, water lilies and other plant species typical of areas with high humidity.

There are over 100 species of vascular plants and almost 10 species of mosses in the reserve, as well as 215 species of macrospore fungi, of which special attention should be paid to rarely occurring in the country squamous pine cone, branch rag and red starfish.

Among the plants rarely found in Poland, and occurring in the flora of the reserve, there are, for example, 3 species of strictly protected plants: common crumble, coral viburnum and lily of the valley, in addition (not subject to species protection, but rare in Central Poland) sedges: ciliated and hilly, spicy scabies and Ascher's cocksfoot.

You can meet many representatives of the animal world here, incl. hares, deer, wild, foxes, storks, wild ducks and many other species of small mammals (shrews, hedgehogs and others) and birds (woodpeckers, cuckoosAlso reptiles (lizards, grass snake) and amphibians (frogs, newts and toads).
