Qasr es-Sagha (Arabic:قصر الصاغة‎, Qaṣr aṣ-Ṣāgha, „Goldsmith's Castle“) Is an archaeological site in Faiyūm in Egypt about 10 kilometers north of the Qārūn Lake. The temple from the ancient Egyptian Middle Kingdom is likely to be primarily interested in Egyptologists and archaeologists.

background

The basalt quarries of Widan el-Faras, which belongs to the Gebel Qatrani mountain range, are 8 kilometers away and have been exploited since the Old Kingdom.

getting there

The visit of Qasr es-Sagha should be made with the nearby archaeological site of Dīmai get connected. Both sites are about 7 kilometers apart as the crow flies. To visit both sites, you officially need a permit from the Supreme Antiquities Authority in Cairo!
