Ras Sudr or Ras Sidr (also Ras Sudar, Ras Sedr, Arabic:رأس سدر, Raʾs Sudr, Raʾs Sidr, occasionally incorrectlyرأس السدر, Raʾs as-Sudr) is a cape and tourist resort on the west coast of the peninsula Sinai at the Gulf of Suez. The place with 1,700 inhabitants[1] is about 50 kilometers south of Sue located and about 310 kilometers from Sharm esch-Sheikh away.

Today's city emerged from a Bedouin settlement. In 2006 there were around 17,000 residents here.
In addition to tourism, oil production and processing is an important branch of industry.
The city was also the scene of the Six Day War, when it was captured by the Israelis on June 8, 1967, and the Yom Kippur War of October 1973. In 1975, the city returned to Egyptian possession.

In the street
The place is located on trunk road 34, which runs from Ismailia and Sue on the coast of Sinai after Sharm esch-Sheikh leads. There is a gas station in the north of the city on the western side of the street (1 29 ° 36 '4 "N.32 ° 42 ′ 33 ″ E).
By bus from Cairo: From the central bus station Turquman several buses go to Sinai every day. The bus towards Sharm esch-Sheikh happens to Ra's Sudr. Further bus connections exist after Sue and eṭ-Ṭōr.
By plane
At et-Tōr (ELT) there is an airport. However, due to insufficient passenger numbers, EgyptAir has discontinued the regular service.
By boat
South of the Porto Sokhna Beach Resort on the west bank of the Gulf of Suez there is the Dome Valley Marina (2 29 ° 26 '38 "N.32 ° 29 ′ 10 ″ E) with 120 berths for yachts with a maximum length of 40 meters and a maximum draft of 4 meters.

Ras Sudr is developing into the most important spot for Surfing, windsurfing and kitesurfing on the Red Sea. There are two important places right on the edge of the lagoon or in the large lagoon itself near the Ramada Resort hotel.
