Gaik nature reserve - Rezerwat przyrody Gaik

Gaik nature reserve, lies in Poland, in voivodeship of Lodz, in Opoczno district, in Mniszków commune. It was established in 1976 and has an area of ​​32.86 ha.

Is in the Sulejowski Landscape Park included in the Complex of Nadpiliczne Landscape Parks.
A floristic, landscape and forest reserve and a fragment of natural multi-species is protected broadleaved forests characteristic of the basin Pilica.
The vegetation of the reserve forms a forest linden-hornbeam-oak that is, subcontinental broadleaved forest. There are over a dozen mighty over 200-year-olds growing here pedunculate oaks with trunk circumferences from 3 to 4.50 m, one of the oldest in the Sulejowski Landscape Park. They are accompanied by a group of the mighty pines with circumferences of 2-3.5 m, hornbeams with circumferences of 2.5-3.5 m and spruce trees with circumferences of 2-2.5 m.
Among the protected plants we can find here, among others medicinal primrose, white knee-length, juniper club moss and large-flowered foxgloveFrom rare and endangered plants, there are: hilly sedge, clove daredevil and shaggy bugle.
At a distance of less than 10 km to the west it is located Zalew Sulejowski.
