Grabica nature reserve - Rezerwat przyrody Grabica

Grabica nature reserve - a floristic, peat bog and water reserve located in Poland, in voivodeship of Lodz, in you say grace, in Sędziejowice commune, in the village Grabica.

It was established by the Regulation of the Łódź Voivode No. 26/2000 of July 31, 2000. It covers the area of ​​8.26 ha. Created in order to preserve the vegetation of the complex of mid-forest transitional and low peat bogs and eutrophic marshes with the participation of numerous species of protected and rare plants.

Protected are lowland and transitional peat bogs as well as mid-forest swamps with numerous protected species, located in the area of ​​a large complex of meadows and peat bogs in the Grabia River valley.

There is a variety of vegetation, typical for wetland habitats, e.g. narrow-leaved woolly, sphagnum, rushes formed by pitted sedge, acute sedge and broadleaf stick, communities marsh seven-tan and other.

Interesting species of bryophytes and vascular plants also grow here. The following deserve attention: Magellanic sphagnum, club moss, peat fork, the smallest hedgehog, orchid broadleaf cuckoo, white ground, in danger of extinction intermediate swimmer and a representative of carnivorous plants: round-leaved sundew.

Among the rare and protected species of animals can be found here fire-bellied toad, marsh harrier and snipe snipe.
