Jabłoniów Las Nature Reserve - Rezerwat przyrody Las Jabłoniowy

Created November 12, 1996 the nature reserve "Las Jabłoniowy" has an area of ​​19.04 ha and is situated in Poland, in voivodeship of Lodz, in Piotrków County, in the municipality Sulejów, in the Piotrkow Plain mesoregion.

It is located on the premises Sulejowski Landscape Park included in the Complex of Riverside Landscape Parks. The purpose of protection in the reserve is to preserve, for scientific, didactic and landscape reasons, the continuity of the population of wild species of fruit trees and shrubs, and in particular forest apple tree and common pear tree, and hawthorn. In the reserve, next to over 100-year-old pines, there is a large grouping of wild fruit trees and shrubs: forest apple, pear tree, blackthorn, red currant and gooseberry. Apple trees (40 trees) and pear trees (30 trees), aged 75-85 years, reach a height of up to 20 m. The trees are slender with high-set crowns, bloom and bear fruit profusely.
The populations of these species are quite stable, they are found under the canopy of the pine stand and they regenerate quite well under it. Individuals are quite varied in height and thickness - some grow up to the base of the pine crowns.
The forest stand of the reserve is complemented by over 200-year-old trees oaks with trunk circumferences up to 3.00 m, there are also such species as: warty birch, small-leaved lime, hornbeam, sessile oak, aspen and spruce.
In addition to the above-mentioned species, there are also bushes: red currant, gooseberry.
The flora of the reserve consists of about 80 species of vascular plants and 15 species of bryophytes. The most interesting of them are those covered by legal protection: daffodil daffodil and goldenhead lily. The rarer plants in the region have been reported here long-leaved starfish.
