One of the smallest nature reserves in the Łódź Province, it covers an area of ​​5.87 ha. It was established by the Regulation of the Łódź Voivode No. 27/2000 of July 31, 2000.

The subject of protection is a mid-forest complex of low peat bogs with an interesting flora of bog plants.

The area of ​​the reserve is a complex of swamps, low peat bogs with interesting flora of bog plants. There are floristically poor reed rushes, numerous species of sedge and stick rushes, and communities of plants floating on peat. There are peat bog plants, disappearing in Central Poland, e.g. peat bog, common swamp and common larch from the heather family, round-leaved sundew (insectivorous plant) and quite rare in Poland marsh sedge.

Numerous animal species associated with wet habitats can be found here: beetles, weighty and cookies (aquatic insects), amphibians and birds.
