getting there
By bus and train
The connection of Rosenthal and the districts of Roda and Willershausen to railway lines is primarily implemented via call and collect taxis (AST), which only run when required. The AST departure times can be obtained from the timetable information of the North Hessian Transport Association be queried. The AST must be ordered at least 30 minutes before the desired departure by calling (05631) -5062088.
Central train stations for the journey to Rosenthal are Marburg and Frankenberg. From Marburg take the RB42 in the direction of Frankenberg and get off in Ernsthausen. From there the AST runs to Rosenthal, Roda and Willershausen. From Frankenberg, depending on the desired departure time, you can take a direct connection with the AST or take the RB42 in the direction of Marburg to Burgwald-Wiesenfeld. From there it continues with AST.

By bicycle
The Hessian long-distance cycle route R6 leads through Rosenthal and the district of Willerhausen. Roda can be reached from Rosenthal via a local bike path.
For combined train-bike journeys, there are from Marburg coming several options:
- (Version 1): Take the train (RB42) from Marburg main station in the direction of Frankenberg to Münchhausen station. From there, follow the signs towards Christenberg (steep climb). From Christenberg, Rosenthal can be reached via local bike paths (16.5 km). Note: The route is not suitable for racing bikes.
- (Variant 2): With the RB42 in the direction of Frankenberg to Ernsthausen station. From there, local bike paths lead via Roda to Rosenthal (16 km). The local cycle path is also unsuitable for racing bikes, at least from Roda; in this case the road via Roda should be taken.
Both routes lead across the Burgwald, it is recommended to download the GPS track (e.g. at Hesse cycle route planner) or to bring cycling maps with you. The signs in the Burgwald can easily be overlooked. It is not possible to take bicycles with you in the AST.
Coming from Frankenberg or Kirchhain you can reach Rosenthal via the above-mentioned Hessian long-distance cycle route R6.
