By bus
Halifax is the main terminus of the two intercity bus companies serving the maritime provincesi.e. Greyhound Canada and Maritime Bus. They offer daily connections along Highway 102, the Trans-Canada Highway as well as towards Charlottetown and several cities of New Brunswick.
By plane
- 1 Robert L. Stanfield International Airport Halifax (IATA : YHZ) – Located a half hour drive north of Halifax. Connections to the main cities canadian as well as international flights to United States, the'Iceland and London.
By train
VIA Rail Canada offers a passenger train connection between Halifax and Montreal three times per week. The journey takes about 22 h. There is also a stop at Truro and to Amherst.
By car
Highway 102, sometimes referred to as the Bicentennial Highway (Bicentennial Highway in English, abbreviated as Bi-High), is the main road access. She joins the Trans-Canada Highway, highway 104, to Truro. The Halifax area is also the starting point for major routes into the Annapolis Valley (Highway 101), in the South side (Highway 103) and in the East Coast (Highway 7). It is a journey of approximately 3 h from Moncton to join Halifax and around 3.5 h from Charlottetown.
