Saint-Cergue is a Swiss Commune in the canton of Vaud.
background
The border town also belongs to the municipality La Cure, west of the Col de la Givrine.
The place developed into a climatic health resort in the middle of the 19th century, today it is an important winter sports resort in the Jura.

The narrow-gauge Chemin de fer Nyon-Saint-Cergue-Morez starts at Nyon train station and reaches the village in around 30 minutes, and 12 minutes later at the terminus in La Cure. The hourly cycle is temporarily increased Mon-Fri between Nyon and St. Cergue.

The A1 motorway must be at the exit Nyon be left, from there a main road leads directly to Saint-Cergue. Dise climbs around 500 meters over the 14 kilometers. The districts of St. Cergue and La Cure are about 6 kilometers by road from each other. On the French side, there are still 11 kilometers of road behind Morez. It is possible to enter via France Vallée de Joux to drive.

- Part of the municipality belongs to the protected area of the Parc Jurassien Vaudois.
- The remains of the former castle (Vieux Château), which was destroyed by the Confederates during the Burgundian Wars. Only the foundations are left.

- The ski area around the Dôle is actually located in the municipality of Gingins, but it can only be reached via Saint-Cergue.

- The two places in the municipality are ideal starting points and stages for hikes in the Jura.
- A hike on the Dôle. The usual hike start at the St-Cergue train station and end at the Borex bus stop (gives you the option of a round trip from Nyon). The hiking time is 5 hours 35 minutes. The path is uneven and the requirements of the route are medium-difficult. The hike can only be done between June and November if the weather is good. Note: There are no food facilities and no fountains on the way.
