Geography
Saint-Martin-de-Crau is best visited for its nature. Most of the town is located in Craved. The Crau, the only arid steppe in Europe, is divided into two with the dry Crau and the humid Crau, where Crau hay is grown.

Story
Saint-Martin-de-Crau is a relatively young town. It was founded in 1925 by dissociation ofArles. The independence of the city is claimed by the inhabitants of the place from 1882.
The city has developed through successive migrations. In the 1950s, melon trees arrived from Cavaillon. In the 1970s, the steel industry presented FOS on sea brought in people from Lorraine.

La Maison de la Crau highlights the ecological and human heritage of La Crau. The building is managed by the Conservatory of natural spaces of Provence-Alpes-Côte d´Azur (CEN Paca) and is owned by the municipality. Part of the Maison de la Crau presents a permanent exhibition that addresses the challenges of the territory with sheep farming, the production of Crau hay or the management of water resources. Everything is presented on nearly 300 m² of exhibition space. During the year, several temporary exhibitions are also presented in a dedicated space. The retro-museum is part of the Maison de la Crau, this exhibition space features a private collection of objects and tools from the past.

- Christmas market – The Christmas market starts at the beginning of December and ends at the beginning of January. The market ends with fireworks.
Festivities
- Embedding – The Priesthood ceremony begins in the church with the blessing of the lamb by the priest. A Provencal mass follows with the reading of Provençal poems and songs. The shepherds follow a procession to the town hall accompanied by their lamb. Guardians and folk groups follow them. During the morning, in the church square, a few sheep and donkeys from Provence form a living scene. This pastoral work is organized on the last Sunday of January.
- Valentine's Fair (Valentine's Day Agricultural Fair)
Organized on Wednesday of the week of February 14. – The Valentine's Day fair is at a key date in the transhumance cycle. Saint-Martin-de-Crau is at the heart of the plain of Crau where the sheep descend from the mountain pastures in the fall and graze the meadows until February 14. It is also a good time for lambing. The city takes advantage of this date to welcome the pastoral world as part of a major agricultural fair.

The highlight is the Sunday morning parade with the passage of more than 2000 sheep. Entertainment is organized all weekend from Saturday morning until Sunday evening.

Olive grove founded in the 1960s by Jean Bélorgey (the grandfather), then taken over by Marc Bélorgey (the father) and currently run by Laurent Bélorgey (the son). Production covers 48 hectares and includes 13,000 olive trees. Converted to organic farming in the early 2010s, the farm produces certified organic oil and olives.
