San Giuliano is a city ofIsland of Malta.
To know
San Giuliano is located along the Maltese coast, north of the capital Valletta, known for tourism based on night clubs and restaurants centered in the Paceville area.
St. Julian's had a tourist development around 1960, when Malta gained independence from the United Kingdom. It is considered a Maltese tourist destination given the presence of points of interest and entertainment.
Background
Before 1800 the area now occupied by San Giuliano was practically deserted, except for the "Spinola Palace", the old church and some houses of local fishermen. Despite this, traces of wagons dating back to the Bronze Age were found in the area of Mensija, in the Tal-Ballut district (on the site now occupied by the Chapel of the Sacred Heart Convent) tombs dating back to Roman times were identified and in ta 'Cieda, where Triq il-Korvu (Cappara) is now located, ruins of a Roman tower and a Saracen burial area were found.

The chapter paintings, however, remained the original ones. A further restructuring was carried out in the 19th century, when the church officially became a parish.
Events and parties
- patron saint (San Giuliano). The city takes its name from the patron saint, San Giuliano, also known as Julian the Poor or Gliliano Ospitaliero. Before the reform of the Calendar of Saints, San Giuliano was dedicated on January 27; today it is celebrated on February 12th, although in traditional Maltese festivals it is instead celebrated on the last Sunday of August in the wake of the other celebrations of the period. For the occasion, the entire city is festively decorated, and importantly, night bus rides are suspended.
