Ċirkewwa (original name in Italian Circheva) is a port located on the northwest tip of theIsland of Malta overlooking the canal of Gozo.
To know
It is the docking point for ferries connecting Malta to the islands of Gozo and Comino. Ċirkewwa is located far from the inhabited centers and of little tourist / cultural interest, however it is the main port ofIsland of Malta used for transfers to and from Gozo is Comino.

By car
Visitors headed to Gozo they can reach Ċirkewwa by car following the relative indications.
From Gozo is Comino it can be reached through one of the many tourist services (10 € A / R - August 2013). While from Gozo it can also be reached via the economical Gozo Channel boat (€ 4.65 round trip - August 2013).
By bus
- From Valletta you can take buses 41, 42 or 37.
- From Sliema or San Giuliano it is possible to take the 222 which takes about 1 hour and a half.
- The X1 express bus arrives from the airport.
How to get around
The port area is modest in size, so getting around it can be done comfortably on foot.
Other means are needed when you want to go inside the island. Please note that the bus line X1, with the direction of the airport, can be subcontracted by the company Arriva to third parties, therefore the timetables could undergo variations (even if they should not) and aesthetically they are different so sharpen your eyes on the signs displayed on the dashboard.

The typical day trip from Ċirkewwa is to the island of Comino. Also Gozo it is an interesting destination for a day trip even if it is recommended to spend at least a couple of days to be able to visit it properly.
