Sayabec is a village in the Gaspesie to Quebec

Understand

Sayabec (pronounced "sebec") is the third largest city in the Matapedia valley. The village is located at the mouth of the Saint-Pierre River on Lake Matapedia. Moreover, the Pierre-Brochu Park located near this mouth gives access to the lake thanks to a launching ramp and it also includes an observation tower. Pierre Brochu became the first inhabitant of the place when he settled there in 1833. Moreover, he made Sayabec the first place inhabited by a settler of European descent from the Matapedia valley who was until then only visited and inhabited by the Mi'kmaq Native American nation.
