activities
The headland of the castle divides the coast into two bays with different characters. South Bay is developed and you will find arcades, a fair, the harbor, the spa complex, donkey rides and all the color of a traditional English seaside resort. North Bay on the other hand is relatively undeveloped and quieter.
- Walking around ..... The cobbled street next to the Futuristic Theater on the Vorland has beautiful works of art on the walls. You should take other walks, such as the Italian Gardens on South Bay, just in front of the Esplanade. Go up and around the Oliver's Mountwhich offers a spectacular view of the city. A stroll to the castle offers a worthwhile view of the north and south bays as well as the grave of Anne Brontë in St Mary's churchyard (the only Bronte not buried in Haworth).
- Hop on one of the open top buses that run from the spa to Peasholm Park to enjoy the entire lake promenade and headland.
- Scarborough's popular Miniature train drives from Peasholm to Scalby Mills around the newly designed (2010) Open Air Theater. With tunnels, bridges and train stations, it's like a normal train connection, only smaller.
