Shakawe village can be reached by bus from Maun. The bus runs three times a day and leaves from Maun bus station. Maun departure times are daily at 8 h 30, 11 h and 16 h 30. Take the bus with the destination sign for Shakawe. There are no ticket offices at the bus station, so tickets cannot be purchased in advance. Payment for tickets is done right on the bus. The bus is pretty basic: 5 non-reclining seats in a row, little legroom and no toilet on the bus.
