- Baoguo - City near the Emeishan National Park.
- Beichuan (北 川) - Memorial city destroyed by the 2008 earthquake. Parts of it are open to tourists to view the damage and pay respects.
- Chengdu (成都; Chéngdū) - Capital of Sichuan province, Chengdu is a large and modern city, fifth on a national scale by population.
- Jiajiang County (夹江 县, Jiājiāng Xiàn) - Includes the "Rock of a Thousand Buddhas"; over 150 ancient Buddha sculptures carved into the rock along the river along with temples and a hilly path through the woods.
- Emeishan (峨眉山 市; Éméishānshì) - Near Mount Emei (from which it takes its name) and the homonymous national park.
- Langzhong (閬 中; Làngzhōng) - Ancient city with a thousand-year history.
- Leshan (乐山; Lèshān) - Includes the Leshan Giant Buddha, the largest carved stone Buddha in the world, declared a World Heritage Site by theUNESCO.

- Ya'an (雅安; Yǎ'ān) - At the foot of the Tibetan plateau.
- Yibin (宜宾; Yíbīn) - It is located at the junction of the Min and Jinsha rivers which together form the Yangtze River, and features numerous hot springs.
