Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture and Qiang of Aba - In the north-central area of Sichuan.
Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Garzê - In the western part of Sichuan.

- Leshan - Location south of Chengdu famous for a huge statue of the Buddha, carved out of the rock.
Western Sichuan
- Dege
- Ganzi - With a predominantly Tibetan population, Ganzi lies in a valley surrounded by the Chola Mountains.
- Kangding - Located in a valley embedded in high mountains, Kangding was the capital of a Tibetan kingdom and still has countless Buddhist monasteries in its surroundings.
- Langmusi - On the border line with Tibet Autonomous Region, Langmusi offers good opportunities to those who love horseback riding.
Northern Sichuan
- Beichuan - City razed to the ground by the 2008 earthquake.
- Langzhong
- Songpan - Inhabited by Tibetans, the village of Songpan forms the basis for a visit to the Jiuzhaigou Valley.
