Skoczów is a city in the polishSilesian Voivodeship in the Silesian promontory at the foot of the Silesian Beskids. Its location makes it an important center of tourism in the Beskydy Mountains. The place is the starting point for hikes into the Silesian foothills and the northern parts of the Silesian Beskids.

background

In the early Middle Ages there was a Slavic rampart from the Golensizen tribe. According to legend, the city was founded in 917. In the age of Polish particularism from the 12th century onwards, he came to the Herzugtum Teschen, which became a Bohemian fiefdom in the 14th century. The Reformation was introduced in the Duchy of Teschen in the 16th century. After the First and Second World War, the place came to Poland.
