By train
1 Solingen central station (former name: Solingen Ohligs) is the central stopping point for all national and international train connections (IC / EC / ICE) up to the lines of the Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn network. From here there are direct connections from most of the surrounding cities such as Remscheid, Wuppertal, Düsseldorf, Cologne, but also regular long-distance connections to Hamburg, Berlin, Munich, Stuttgart and Switzerland.
There are direct connections to Cologne-Bonn Airport (ICE / IC), as well as S-Bahn connections to Düsseldorf Airport (S-Bahn).

- 1 Castle - You can easily get to the castle hill with the Chairlift. Schloss Burg has been one of the Count von Berg's most important castles since the 12th century. The original building was built in the 12th century and existed until the Thirty Years War. The complex was reconstructed from 1890 and is now the largest reconstructed castle in North Rhine-Westphalia.
