Place Kléber is the central square of Strasbourg. It was completely rearranged in 2007. Among the buildings that overlook it, the most prominent is the Aubette, a neoclassical building where the guardhouse was installed.

Rue des Grandes-Arcades begins in Kléber square and ends in place Gutenberg, one of the oldest in the city. In the center stands the monument to Johann Gutenberg that Strasbourg itself developed its system of movable type printing. The Renaissance-style building of Commerce (Hôtel du Commerce) overlooks the square.

Petite France is a district just south of Kléber square, characterized by medieval houses with typical wooden structures that are reflected on the waters of the canals. Rue des Moulins branches off from rue des Dentelles, undoubtedly the most suggestive of the district if not of all of Strasbourg. Its path takes place entirely on the river.
