Šumava - a mountain range located on the border Czech, German and Austria. The highest peak on the German side is Großer Arber (Czech Velký Javor, 1,457 m above sea level), the highest peak on the Czech and Austrian side is the border peak Plechý / Plöckenstein (1,378 m above sea level). On the German and Austrian side, the range is called Böhmerwald, which literally means "Czech Forest". Additionally, in Bavaria, the term Rear Bavarian Forest (Hinterer Bayerischer Wald).
