getting there

By plane

The closest airport is the Munster Osnabrück Airport (FMO) (17 km south). From there it is best to continue by car or taxi.

By train

Until 1968, the city was served by the Federal Railroad in passenger traffic. After the line was shut down by the Federal Railroad, the station and the tracks continued to be used for special trips by the Teuto Express, a museum railway with historic locomotives in the Tecklenburger Land. After landslides in 2010 and 2012, this is no longer possible. The action alliance is currently trying per TWE to bring about a repair of the tracks. The nearest train station with regular services is initially in Lengerich, 10 km away (regional train line Münster – Osnabrück). From there it goes on by bus.
