• Nutmeg can be purchased from a producer who dries them on the side of the road. We buy dry nuts that are beige in color or those that still have their brown hulls but which make noise when shaken. The red skin that surrounds the nut is also dried and can be eaten, but it is more expensive nonetheless.
• T-shirts with the effigy of Ternate are on sale in various shops near the large shopping center and the "landmark".
