getting there
- Bus / Pick-Up: There are buses and pick-ups to and from Kalaw (800-1200 Kyat) or further to Taunggyi near the Inle Lake. Another bus connection is there Meiktila (150 kyat) and Bagan (800 kyat). The drive over the pass direction Kalaw, Taunggyi and Pindaya takes a long time due to the crossing of the mountains.
- Train: There are train connections to Yangon, Bago, Mandalay and after Shwenyaung near the Inle Lake.
- Automobile: This is certainly the most pleasant way to travel. Of course it costs a lot (Bagan $ US 20; Shwenyaung $ US 30-35). Here you can simply inquire about your accommodation.
