Thisted is a city in North Jutland.

Thisted is the main town in the region Thy on the north bank of the Limfjord in the far northwest of Jutland. The Thy National Park near Thisted is Denmark's first national park. The area is characterized in particular by the Limfjord and the direct North Sea coastline, hilly landscape with many dune areas reaching into the interior of the country.
getting there
By plane
The nearest international airport is in Aalborg (AAL), which is supported by Frankfurt (Lufthansa), Copenhagen (SAS) and Amsterdam (KLM) is flown from. From the airport bus line 70 goes to Thisted in two hours (130 kr per person each way). With a rental car, the 85 km can be covered in just over an hour. The small Thisted Airport is currently out of service.
By train
Thisted is the terminus of the regional train line Struer in Central Jutland, where there are connections to trains from Aarhus and Fredericia. One drives over from Germany Hamburg Hbf and / or Flensburg, whereby several changes are usually necessary. The cheapest connection (twice a day) is:
- Hamburg - Fredericia – Struer - Thisted, 7½ hours, change twice
The normal price from Hamburg is around € 90, saver prices are available from € 29.
By bus
From Aalborg the express bus route 970X runs every hour to Thisted. The journey takes 1:40 hours and costs 140 kr. The express bus line 940X runs from Viborg above Skive and Nykøbing (Mors) to Thisted (from Nykøbing 30 minutes, 50 kr; from Viborg 1:45 hours, 130 kr)
In the street
Of Flensburg The shortest way to get there is via the E45 motorway Vejle and from exit 59 continue on Primærrute (corresponds to a federal road) 18 over Herning and Skive, then continue on 26 to Thisted. Allow around five hours of pure travel time for the 450 km from Hamburg.
The route from Herning via Holstebro and Struer is more scenic and only slightly longer.
