By train

Almost parallel to the A4 leads the Holzlandbahn of Jena to Gera. Regional express trains on the route run here every hour GoettingenErfurtGlauchau/Altenburg. RE stops are Stadtroda and Hermsdorf-Bad Klosterlausnitz, the smaller stations are served by a regional train every two hours. In the east the area is covered by the railway line LeipzigGera affects. In the west runs the Saalebahn, on which regional trains run on the Naumburg - Jena - Saalfeld route.
