The town Glauchau is located on the Zwickauer Mulde on the northern edge of the Ore Mountains.

By plane
The closest airport is Leipzig Halle Airport(IATA: LEJ); 105 km away.
By train
Glauchau is a regional express stop on the route Dresden–Chemnitz–Glauchau–Zwickau–court. There is also an RE of every other hour Goettingen above Erfurt. The drive from Zwickau takes 10 minutes, from Chemnitz 20 minutes, from Hof 1:15 hours, from Dresden just under 1½ hours. It takes 40 minutes from Gera, 1½ hours from Jena and 2 hours from Erfurt. Out Leipzig Coming - where the next ICE / IC stop is - you have to change trains in Gößnitz and it takes 1:10 hours.
The 1 railway station is just under two kilometers north of the city center. Another traffic stop for regional trains is in the suburb of Schönbörnchen.

In the street
Glauchau is in the immediate vicinity of the A 4 (Erfurt-Chemnitz-Dresden) and owns 63 Glauchau-West and 64 Glauchau-Ost two runs. The B 175 runs from south to north Zwickau–Glauchau–Rochlitz. It is coupled with the B 93 between Zwickau and shortly after the VW tunnel in Mosel, where it has been expanded into a four-lane expressway.

Two bus lines serve the city traffic of Glauchau, in addition there are regional bus lines, which also stop in the city. The central hub is at the train station. There is a map with the bus routes here (pdf file).
Glauchau belongs to the tariff area of Central Saxony Transport Association (VMS). This enables travelers with network tickets to use all public transport in the respective tariff zone. The Saxony (Saxony-Anhalt, Thuringia) ticket is also valid on all VMS means of transport.

- The two castles are the landmark: that 1 Hinterglauchau Castle (1460 to 70) and that 2 Fordglauchau Castle (1527 to 34). The City Museum is housed in Hinterglauchau Castle:

- The 3 City Church of St. George is in the baroque style and was built in the years 1726 to 28. It contains a Silbermann organ from 1730 and a Gothic winged altar (around 1510).
- Another landmark of the city is the one reminiscent of the Leipzig Völkerschlachtdenkmal Bismarck Tower. At 45 meters, it is the tallest Bismarck tower that still exists today. In good weather you can go from here to Fichtelberg look.
