climate

  • Weather forecast for the Fichtelberg (summit 1213 m): A detailed 4-day forecast (Meteomedia AG by Jörg Kachelmann) is to be found here.
  • Weather forecast for Oberwiesenthal (914 m, located in the valley on the Fichtelberg): A detailed 4-day forecast (also from Meteomedia AG) is to be found here.
Note for winter sports enthusiasts: You can calculate the expected fresh snow from the forecast yourself. Rule of thumb: 1 mm of precipitation results in about 1 cm of cardboard snow (at temperatures around 0 degrees Celsius). Powder snow usually falls at lower temperatures. Here 1 mm of precipitation results in 1 - 2 cm snow depth.
