The Turin area is a rich territory of ancient traditions that crowns a Turin, the first capital ofItaly. The city has always been the political fulcrum of this area but, despite this, even the neighboring cities have undergone a great cultural influence from the Crown of Savoy and its villages have been enriched by exceptional architectural works, such as the royal residences, scattered throughout the territory and declared heritage ofUNESCO.

  • 1 Carignano - It is one of the oldest Piedmontese municipalities and in its historic center, cut in two by the characteristic Via Vittorio Veneto, there are many testimonies of the medieval past. Worthy of a visit is the majestic Baroque Cathedral of S. Giovanni Battista and Remigio, designed by Benedetto Alfieri.
  • 2 Carmagnola - A small town south of Turin, famous for its peppers. The festival takes place annually.
  • 3 Cavour - It was an antique castrum Roman, later a fief of Camillo Benso. Its peculiarity is that of being at the foot of a very unique miniature mountain that stands out on the surrounding plain: the Rocca. On the summit you can also enjoy an incomparable 360 ​​degree panorama.

  • 8 Rivoli - Town located in the metropolitan area of Turin, there is the sixteenth-century castle of Rivoli, one of the most important Savoy royal palaces, heritage ofUNESCO. Inside the rooms of the castle there is an exceptional museum of contemporary art, one of the largest in Italy. The museum is played on the contrasts between the elegant frescoed rooms and the very modern works on display.
  • 9 Santena - Famous for its tasty asparagus, it was a favorite holiday destination from Camillo Benso, which has left you precious testimonies such as the elegant Villa Cavour.
  • 10 Turin - The sober elegance of the Savoyard city is superimposed on the checkerboard layout of the Roman one Augusta Taurinorum: long straight avenues that cross perpendicularly where the nascent Po plain replaces the Alps. What to do

  • Green ring of the Po hill. This simple path, immersed in the woods, winds on the hill above Turin and touches all the historical and natural points of interest in the area. It offers splendid viewpoints over the city.
