Home of music (Casa de la Música) (at the stairs on the central square). An outdoor place where there is a small platform from which groups perform at night. There is usually salsa music and great salsa dancers there enjoy the music and dance and perform with foreigners. It is possible to enjoy a few drinks there.

Museum of the War Against the Bandits (Museum of the Fight Against Bandits). The Museum is located in a former convent near the cathedral near the main square in the old colonial center. The War Against the Bandits took place from 1961-1969 fought against American-sponsored counterrevolutionaries who hid in the nearby mountains. The entrance fee includes the viewpoint of the monastery tower, reached by several wooden steps, which has beautiful views throughout the city and is the highest place in the city.

Topes de Collantes National Park. The national park starts just outside the city and has great views and many trails, some of which lead to waterfalls, rivers or ponds. The nearest park area is El Cubano and it is even possible to walk there (4-5km one way), however the park areas higher up on the hill (around the village of Topes de Collantes) have a greater variety

Ancón Beach on the Ancón Peninsula (Ancón Beach). The peninsula is one of the few places in Cuba where you can access a great beach without staying at a holiday hotel. A taxi will take 10-15 min to reach it, there is also a (often very crowded) bus departing 4 times a day from Kubatur and Havanatur and the beach is also accessible by bike from Trinidad (although cycling in the hot sun can be quite stressful). Make sure you have sunscreen and mosquito repellent, especially if you plan to stay on the beach in the evening.

Iberostar Grand Hotel, ☏ 53 41 996070. A beautiful colonial hotel on the main road to the square. It is a bit expensive, but worth living in because it has colonial wheelchairs, beds and so on.
