Turrach is located in the Murau district in the Upper Styria In the state Styria.

Turrach belongs to the political community Predlitz-Turrach. The community consists of the three localities Predlitz, Einach, and Turrach.

Like the Turracher See, Turracher Höhe belongs partly to the Styrian municipality of Predlitz-Turrach and partly to the municipality of Reichenau in Carinthia. The national border runs roughly in the middle through the town and the lake. The northern one, Turracher Höhe, the half of the town belonging to Styria has the postcode 8864, the southern part is in Carinthia Turracherhöhe 9565, but the phone code is the same for the whole town (04275).

The Klagenfurt Airport is about 85 km and the Graz Airport about 130 km away.

By train

Predlitz is on the railway line Unzmarkt - Murau - Tamsweg. The route is driven by the Murtalbahn, a narrow-gauge railway with 760 mm gauge.

In the street

From Salzburg on the A 10 through the Tauern tunnel to St. Michael / Lungau (toll station), then from Tamsweg on the federal road 96 towards Predlitz, then left to Turrach and Turacher Höhe. In summer, instead of going through the Tauern Tunnel, which is subject to a fee, you can cross the scenic Radtstätter Tauern Pass at 1,600 m above sea level. Drive N.N.

  • Turracher Nocky runabout, the Alpine roller coaster, sleek curves through the stone pine forest, roundabouts, wave runs and jumps, the route is 1.6 kilometers long. From the Panoramabahn mountain station (2,000 m) down to the Turracher Höhe (1,763 m). The toboggan run is open in summer and winter. 6.50 for children and 9.00 for adults for the ascent with the Panoramabahn, descent with the toboggan run. open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
