Tux is an Alpine municipality in the Tuxer Valley in Tyrol, Austria. It consists of the towns Lanersbach, its main settlement, and Vorderlanersbach. Tux is a popular winter sports destination with modern ski infrastructure on the Eggalm and Rastkogel peaks.

By bus
From 1 Mayrhofen station, take bus 4104 direction Hintertux and get off at Lanersbach or Vorderlanersbach. Travel time from Mayrhofen is ca. 20 minutes.
By car
Traveling to Tux by car is not recommended because of the limited parking amenities in town. Rather leave your car in Mayrhofen and take the bus from there. Snow chains are mandatory when entering the Tuxer Valley in winter, so you'll need them to reach Tux. Expect to be fined heavily if you ignore the signs, get stuck in snow or ice on the L6, and block traffic in the entire valley.
Get around
In the winter season, from 19.12.2020 – 18.04.2021, there is a ski bus (the Green Line) between Mayrhofen and Hintertux which stops in Lanersbach and Vorderlanersbach, and is the easiest way to get around.

- 1 Farming Museum (Höllensteinhütte) (Loschbodenalm). A small museum in the Höllensteinhütte, which is on the Loschbodenalm and can only be reached by foot.
- 2 St. Thomas Parish Church (Pfarrkirche Tux), Lanersbach 232. Church named after Thomas the Apostle, built in 1465. It was upgraded in 1517 and completely rebuilt by Georg Sieberer in 1686. In 1891 it was consecrated as a parish church. The west gallery is supported by late Gothic pillars. The nave is barrel vaulted over the consoles and has 4 bays. The frescoes in the choir show the “Glory of St. Thomas”. There are also eight saints in the choir and 14 in the nave in grisaille pictures by Johann Endfelder from around 1830. The high altar is a baroque double column altar from around 1740. The paintings are attributed to Johann Georg Grasmair. The figures of Saints Peter and Paul were made around 1740. The altarpiece on the left side altar shows Saint Francis Xavier and is flanked by figures of Saints John and Paul, dated to around 1740. On the right side altar is a picture of Saint Aloysius from around 1850. The pulpit was created around 1830. In the nave there are figures of Saint Isidore from 1790, Ambrose from 1740 and a guardian angel from the 18th century. Free.
