The Vancouver International Airport is 17 minutes by car southeast of downtown Vancouver on the island of Sea Island.

Vancouver Airport is just outside the city, south of the city. It's relatively easy to use with the local public transport from downtown Vancouver. Since the end of 2009 there has been a direct sky train connection with the Canada Line directly to the Waterfront station in Downtown. The journey time is 25 minutes. The tickets ($ 8.75) include an airport surcharge of $ 5, which is only for journeys from Airport must be paid (not the other way around!). For a trip to downtown you need a 2-zone ticket.
