Villa Cerro Castillo is a village on the Carretera Austral in the Región de Aysén in Chile. It is the starting point for many tours in the Cerro Castillo National Reserve. The southernmost paved section of the Carretera Austral currently ends in the village.

getting there

By plane

Next major airport at Coyhaique (near Balmaceda) approx. 60km away with connections to major Chilean cities.

By bus

The bus connections between Cochrane or. Puerto Río Tranquilo in the south and Coyhaique in the north, also stop in place. Here you should try to make a (telephone) advance reservation.

In the street

The village is located on the Carretera Austral, just under 100 km south of the largest city Coyhaique. Via the ferry connection from Puerto Ibanez it is also good at Chile Chico connected to the Argentine border.

In the south is Cochrane the next larger city (3,000 inhabitants).
