Villaviciosa de Odón[1] is a city of West metropolitan area of the Madrid's community. It is located in the center of the Iberian Peninsula, in Spain.

The Regional Park of the Middle Course of the Guadarrama River crosses the municipal term in its central part, granting an important environmental value to the city. It also has historical monuments such as the castle from the early 15th century or the ruins of Calatalifa, an ancient town of Muslim origin. In Villaviciosa de Odón, the European University of Madrid also has its main campus.

Villaviciosa de Odón has experienced a significant demographic increase in the last quarter of the 20th century and the result of this growth is the current division of the municipality into various urbanizations. The most representative area is the historic center, the forerunner of the current urban nucleus around which the main streets with numerous shops are developed. Urbanization El Bosque, in the northern area and separated from the rest of the city by the Pantanos highway, it is also home to the European University of Madrid. The El Castillo urbanization, which gets its name from the presence in it of a fortification from the early 15th century and which is surrounded by a historic garden. Finally, following the road that goes to Alcorcón, you will find the Campodón urbanization in the east of the municipality and Cerro de las Nieves to the southeast, in the direction of Móstoles. Part of Campodón is included in the municipal term of Alcorcón, as well as the Cerro de las Nieves area, which it shares with Móstoles.
