  • Huang Heo Lou (黄鹤楼) is a historic tower, built on the Yellow Crane cliff of Sheshan Mountain on the banks of the Yangtze River, in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China. Hoang Hac Lau is considered one of the four great towers of China and is a famous building praised by poets.

The first Hoang Hac Pavilion was built on Hoang Hac rapids in Vu Xuong district, Hubei province in the 2nd year of Hoang Vu of the Ngo Dynasty of the Three Kingdoms (223 Tay Lich). Up to now, during 1762 years, there have been 12 times of destruction, 12 times of rebuilding, each time higher and with more floors.

The name "Lau Hoang Hac" originates from folk legends. Legend has it that Phi Van Vi, a monk who attained enlightenment, used to rode a golden crane around the river. One day, fairies and cranes flew across Wuhan and stopped on "Snake Hill" to see, one side is the majestic beauty of Truong Giang and the other is the Five Lakes in the beautiful mist. Later people flew from the place where the fairies rode a golden crane to build a tower named Hoang Hac Lau.

In the past, Hoang Hac Lau was a meeting place for contemporary writers and guests. During the Tang Dynasty (618-907), poets came to Hoang Hac Lau to both enjoy the charming scenery of the mountains and water, and drink wine to write poetry.

Conquering the ages destroyed the Hoang Hac Lau architecture and was rebuilt. The last floor of Thanh Lau was cut in 1868 and destroyed in 1884. In 1957, when the first bridge across the Yangtze River was built, the old location of the Yellow Crane Tower was requisitioned and the Hoang Hac Lau structures were moved. 1 km from the old location.

In October 1981, Hoang Hac Lau was reconstructed and inaugurated in June 1985. The tower is now a reconstruction of modern materials and has an elevator. The Yellow Crane Pavilion is now located in the Yellow Crane Park, which attracts domestic and foreign tourists from China.
