Western District is a district on the island Malta, which includes the area west of the capital region.

getting there
Most travelers arrive in Malta by plane, from Malta International Airport in Luqa can be reached by bus to the localities in western Malta.
The express bus line X3 leads from the airport Luqa initially towards Valletta, but then bends Bikirkara to the west and leads through the Western District to at Rabat heading north again Buggiba turn.
mobility
The easiest way to get around locally is with the vehicles of the well-developed bus network of the Maltese bus company Arriva, alternatively by taxi or by (rental) car. The security situation is unproblematic and crime in the small island state is low. The usual precautionary measures should nevertheless be observed.

The island has a dry Mediterranean climate, in summer it can get extremely hot for sightseeing tours, swimming is possible from May to October, and diving is practiced almost all year round in certain places.
