Winston-Salem is a city in the Piedmont Triad region of the US state North Carolina. The city is a cultural metropolis and offers, among other things, many theaters as well as art schools, exhibitions and galleries.

Winston-Salem has been the location of the R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, the second largest tobacco company in the United States, since 1875. This is where the brand introduced in 1913 was found Camel which later became the most popular brand in the world. The production facilities have been located in the neighboring village of Tobaccoville, 20 minutes northwest of Winston-Salem, since the 1980s.

- 1 West End Historic District (Winston-Salem's Front Porch), W. Fourth St. and Brookstown Ave. (North at Broad St. exit on Business 40 in downtown Winston-Salem, then left onto W. Fourth St. until at Brookstown). Winston-Salem's West End has been a hub of the city for going out and shopping since its inception as an exclusive community of affluent tobacco and textile families. The West End was built around one of the country's first electric tram lines and featured Millionaires' Row, which was where the Reynolds and Hanes families maintained homes that were bought with manufacturing assets. With its houses built between 1890 and 1930, the district is known for both its hospitality and the largest and most diverse concentration of veranda designs in the region.Open: Most shopping 10AM - 6PM; most dining 11AM - 9PM.Price: Free.
- 2 Historic Bethabara Park, 2147 Bethabara Road. The park features costumed guides who lead visitors through a church built in 1788. In addition, you can visit two historical buildings, a restored fortress from the French / Indian war and a restored medical garden.
- 3 Charlotte and Philip Hanes Art Gallery at the Scales Fine Arts Center, 1834 Wake Forest Road. Tel.: 1 336 758-5585. In 1991, Wake Forest University's Scales Fine Arts Center dedicated its gallery to Philip Hanes and his wife Charlotte in recognition of their contributions to the arts. - Diggs Gallery, 601 South Martin Luther King Drive. Named for James Thackeray "T" Diggs, Jr., a 1934 graduate of Winston-Salem State University, painter and art professor for 40 years. It features one of North Carolina's largest exhibitions dedicated to the arts of Africa and the African diaspora, and it also has musical performances, dance, drumming, artist workshops, theatrical productions, and film screenings.Open: Tu – Sa 11 AM–5PM.Price: Free.
- 4 Downtown Arts District (DADA), Sixth and Trade Streets in Downtown. DADA, an ultra-hip downtown area, is an eclectic collection of work studios, galleries, shops, and restaurants. Just one block from the Benton Convention Center, this exciting neighborhood is easy to find. Discover this inspiring world of jewelers, fiber artists, wood and metal workers, antique dealers and sculptors.

- Residence Inn Winston-Salem University Area, 7835 North Point Boulevard, 10 minutes north of downtown. Good apartment hotel of the Marriott chain. 88 apartments in 11 separate, 2-storey buildings. Different sizes from studios to 2 bedroom units, all with fully equipped kitchens. The term "Penthouse Suites" means maisonette apartments that extend over two floors. Built in 1986 and last renovated in 2013. Outdoor swimming pool and tennis court. Breakfast buffet included in the price. The hotel is in a business district that also has a few chain restaurants (North Point Grill, Domino's Pizza, Dunkin 'Donuts) as well as the independently run Salvadoran restaurant El Triunfo can be found.
