Cross-country trails in the Taufstein / Hoherodskopf area

Use of the trails in Vogelsberg is free of charge. Of course, that doesn't mean that there are no costs. If you want to make a voluntary contribution to the maintenance of the cross-country ski trails, you can purchase the "cross-country trail" for 5 euros at the nature conservation information center. The badge can be stuck on the skis.

A ski rental for cross-country skiing equipment can be found at the Baptismal lodge.

The grooming of the trails in the Taufstein / Hoherodskopf area is carried out with a snow groomer. As a result, the track quality is very good.

  • Taufstein trail - The trail is also known as the "Taufstein Glacier" due to its guaranteed snow. There are three variants to choose from: 3.3 km easy; 5 km medium; 7 km difficult
  • Skating track - The competition trail also starts at the Taufstein trail. It is 5.4 km long

At Ulrichstein, two medium-difficult circular routes of 3.7 and 6.4 km in length are groomed with a snowmobile. There are beautiful views from the 600 to 630 m high cross-country trails.
