Story
The village appears under the name of "Folcolfesheim" in 742. Many religious establishments are then owned in the village. Wolxheim is part of the bailiwick of Dachstein, dependent on the bishopric of Strasbourg. From the 14the century, it is included in the property of the nobles of Fénétrange. The latter ceded part of it to the nobles of Hohenstein in 1387. After the family died out, this part of the village returned to the bishopric. The other part remains in the possession of the nobles of Fénétrange until the XVe and XVIe century, then also returns to the bishopric which preserves the village in its entirety until the French Revolution. The locality lives mainly from its mills and vineyards and reached its maximum population in 1846 with 1 221 inhabitants.

- 1 Saint-Denis Chapel Cemetery path
9 h - 18 h. – Placed in the center of the cemetery, the chapel, whose existence is attested in 1342, has a nave and a five-sided choir. According to local tradition, a sanctuary dedicated to Dionysus, god of wine, already exists on this site in Roman times. The patronage of Saint Denis is undoubtedly introduced by the monks of Lièpvre, who have a colongère court in Wolxheim. In the XVIIe century, the parish priest of the place, Friedrich Daham, had the nave and the roof restored. The chapel houses paintings by Carola Sorg as well as the tombstone of the wife of miller Audran, from Wolxheim, who died in 1703.
- 2 Saint-Armuth Chapel
Open on request from the town hall. – This chapel bears the curious name of "Sankt-Armuthskappelle", Chapel of Holy Poverty. No doubt this patronage refers to the poverty of Christ at the time of his death. Mentioned in 1512, the first sanctuary was destroyed and restored in 1614. Ruined during the Thirty Years' War, it was raised in the 18th century.e century. A small habitat, to house the hermit who takes care of the place, is added at this time. Finally, in 1861, the factory council bought back the property which had passed into private hands. The chapel is then enlarged, and the hermitage is renovated, as indicated by the inscription affixed above the door.

Symbol of the peace desired by the entire population, the statue is voluntarily turned towards the contemporary fort of Mutzig.
- The Rose House – The Grass family resided in this house for several generations. The monuments of Kléber and Lezay-Marnésia were made by one of its members, the sculptor Philippe Grass, born in the house. Its success allows it to become statutory of the Oeuvre Notre-Dame de Strasbourg. Near the house is the Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours chapel, built in 1864 on the initiative of Mayor Charles Prost. It cannot be visited because it is a private domain.

The fathers of the Congregation of the Holy Spirit bought the house in 1949 and set up a retirement home there. It only welcomes religious people
