trips

Steep coast between Wustrow and Ahrenshoop

Steep coast near Wustrow

The steep coast between Wustrow and Ahrenshoop invites you to take a walk on land or sea. When the sea is calm, even the narrowest point just before Ahrenshoop can be passed on the lake side. Because of the risk of accidents, you should be careful in any case and not stay too close to the demolition edge, neither from the Baltic Sea nor from land. In addition, the constant natural bank decline (e.g. due to storm surges) does not have to be helped by climbing the steep coast.

Year after year, piece by piece, an old defensive structure is washed out of the steep bank by winter storms. Two bunkers, several cables and bricked or concreted parts are now on the beach and in the Baltic Sea.

In summer, the walk can be shortened using a staircase.
