The Wadi Naam, Arabic:وادي نعام, Wādī Naʿām, is a valley in the Rootmeergebirge in the egyptianArabian desert. The valley, which runs from north to south, was once part of a caravan route from Aswan in the area of esch-Schalātīn and into the Ḥalāʾib triangle. Along the valley, especially on its west side, the travelers left numerous rock carvings. At its southern end the valley goes into that Wādī Ḥōḍein above. The wadis branch off in the area where both wadis meet Wādī Abū Saʿfa and Wādī Diff. To protect this route, in Greek times in Biʾr Abraq built a fortress.
