The egyptian Governorate Red Sea or el-Bahr el-Ahmar (Arabic:محافظة البحر الأحمر, Muḥāfaẓat al-Baḥr al-aḥmar) is in the eastern part of the Arabian desert. It borders the governorate to the north Sue, to the east on the coast of Red sea, in the south to the Sudan and in the west to the governorates Aswan, Luxor, Qinā, Sōhāg, Asyūṭ, el-Minyā and Beni Suef. The administrative center is el-Ghurdaqa (Hurghada).
