The egyptian Governorate el-Gharbiya, Arabic:محافظة الغربية‎, Muḥāfaẓat al-Gharbīya, „Governorate 'the western'“Is at the center of the Nile deltas. It borders the governorate to the north Kafr esch-Sheikh, in the east to the governorate ed-Daqahlīya, in the south to the governorate el-Minūfīya and in the west to the governorate el-Buḥeira. The administrative center is Aunt.

  • 5 Maḥallat Marḥūm(30 ° 48 ′ 2 ″ N.30 ° 57 ′ 35 ″ E), Arabic:محلة مرحوم- small town with 36,843 inhabitants (2006),[1] six kilometers northeast of Ṭanṭā. The kindergarten has space for 90 children.[3]

getting there

The cities of Ṭanṭā, Maḥalla el-Kubrā and Samannūd are easily accessible by train. Ṭanṭā is on the Cairo – Alexandria railway, Maḥalla el-Kubrā and Samannūd on the Cairo – Dumyāṭ line.

There are also long-distance buses from Cairo and Alexandria to Ṭanṭā. From the cities, the villages in the surrounding area can also be reached by minibuses.
