The egyptian Governorate Alexandria (Arabic:محافظة الإسكندرية, Muḥāfaẓat al-Iskandarīya) is located on the Mediterranean coast. It borders on that in the north Mediterranean Sea, in the east to the governorate el-Buḥeira and in the west to the governorate Matruh. The administrative center is Alexandria.
