History

Only in the period between the Second Partition of Poland (1793) and 1919 it was part of the Kingdom of Prussia. In 1939-1945 under German occupation. The first records date back to 1388. At the beginning of the 15th century, a second village appears, initially referred to as "Zatom Mały" and later Zatom Nowy.

In the years 1388-1428 the owner was Mikołaj Zatomski of the Leszczyc coat of arms. In 1571, the entire Sieraków estate, certainly together with the Old and New Zatom, became the property of Jakub Rokossowski, Glaubicz coat of arms, member of parliament, the castellan of Śrem and the Crown Treasurer.

In 1591, the Sieraków estate was purchased by Jan Opaliński of Bnin, coat of arms of Łódź, the castellan of Rogoziński.

Then his son, the voivode of Poznań, Piotr Opaliński, and his sons: Krzysztof Opaliński (1609-1655) and Łukasz Opaliński the younger (1612-1662), who became famous in the field of literature, hosted here. Their daughter Maria Leszczyńska (1703-1768) became the wife of Louis XV in 1725 and thus Stary Zatom, together with the entire Sieraków estate, became the property of the Queen of France in 1747. However, on May 23, 1749, she was forced to live in a lavish court life the property of Sieraków Town with Villages and Farms, including both Zatim villages, to be sold for the sum of one million Polish zlotys to Henryk Hrabiem from Ociesz to Brühl.

The village is situated in the historical area of ​​the Poznań bishopric. From the beginning, she was associated with the Parish of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the Immaculate Conception in Sieraków, which has been confirmed since 1580. Protestants also belonged to the parish in Sieraków. At the turn of the 20th century, the village was definitely Catholic and Polish. 37 Protestants (9%) lived here in 1885, and 31 (7.5%) in 1905. All Protestants were German-speaking, while 372 Catholics (89 , 8% of rural residents), the mother tongue was Polish.

Initially, the village belonged to the manor, but at the end of the 19th century it was already a farming village.

The area of ​​the village was 585 ha, in 1908 - 586.2 ha. In 1837 - 265 "souls", 1864 - 352 inhabitants, 1905 - 414 inhabitants, 1910 - 397 inhabitants, 1970 - 289 inhabitants, 1978 - 266 inhabitants, 2003 - 268 inhabitants. On December 12, 1939, the Germans, who occupied these areas at the beginning of World War II, began the resettlement of the inhabitants - a total of 110 people in several groups. 20 people were relocated to other farms, 9 people were displaced to forced labor in Germany. Only 3 houses were destroyed in 1945.

At the end of the 19th century, the Evangelical school was located in Kolnie. The school in the village was open in the 1940s, in the 1970s it was a branch point of the Municipal School Complex in Międzychodzie.
